UBS has agreed to buy Credit Suisse for more than $2 billion, according to the Financial Times. Credit Suisse was a $7 billion company on Friday..... UBS and the Swiss National Bank this morning.... Credit Suisse has a book value of equity of 45 billion (number of shares times book value) at a share price of 20%. UBS wanted another 80% discount… and got it. 2 billion is a 96% discount. So Credit Suisse is actually worthless. That is ins Bail-in: Swiss government will cover up to $10 billion of UBS's losses on acquisition of Credit Suisse. Credit Suisse was valued almost $100 billion some time back. Now its sold for $3 billion.... The Weakest European Banks: 1 Dead 2 Deutsche Bank 3 UBS Will Deutsche Bank be next. After all it has never fully recovered from the debacle of 2008.....
