Kick off Halloween with the “zombie ant!” This term refers to a carpenter ant under the “control” of the fungus Ophiocordyceps unilateralis. The fungus takes the reins of an ant & ultimately sprouts a fruiting body from its head, from which it disperses more fungal spores.
