Several years ago people from #Turkiye already told me that their buildings are not strong enough and that their government was doing little to make buildings more #earthquake proof. This would be the first step to save more lives. 

The large earthquakes in Central Turkey have caused a significant change in stress distribution throughout the region, with seismic activity down to Palestine as a result. Clearly, the region is resettling.
